Status of Django compatibility

Hi all,

I'm keen to try running Django on IIS 7.

Maybe this thread could be used to keep track of related issues e.g.

- which Django releases (if any) are compatible.
- are there any hacks available, and what releases do they relate to
- general experiences
etc

Great idea!

First, there are some posts on my blog: http://jdhardy.blogspot.com/search/label/Django.

Otherwise, I think targetting the 2.6 branch of IronPython is the best idea, as it is more likely to get fixes into it than into the 2.0 series. Nightly builds can be found at http://nightlybuilds.cloudapp.net/Project.aspx?project=ironpython.

Of course, this requires a version of NWSGI built against 2.6, which I'll try to get out ASAP. Alternatively (and much easier for testing purposes), try using the Django internal webserver.

There are a few fixes that were required last time I checked, but starting from scratch might not be a bad idea. If anyone else wants to try I'd be happy to help out.
